For this project we had to take notes to fill out a chart, then make a timeline based off of that chart. We split the work into four since we had four people in our group. I did five technological advancements from 1943-1970. On the timeline we had to describe what it was, explain the significance, and draw a picture for each one.
Our final project was a complete timeline featuring many key and neccasary events and people in marine biology. we had detailed images showing what each one was and a description of each. Along with the significance of each event.
Inventions/ important events:
1943 SCUBA- self contained breathing aparatus. Used today by so many scientists. Now they can go places underwater.
1959 satellite imagery- monitors global temp. helps scientists look places were they don't always go.
1960 FLIP - a boat that can flip to become a platform. helps scientists move a lab to have experiments in different places.
1964 ALVIN- owned by us navy deep sea submergible. Can explore deep recks or near the bottom of the sea, were divers cant go.
1970 ROV'S- remotely operated vehicle. used to explore the ocean with out a need to control it.
Since we all divided up the work into four parts I believe we all did an even amount. This project helped me gain lots of knowlege about the advancements and events that have taken place in marine biology. I found concrete research and manged my time well. When we were creating the timeline I could have drawn more images of the topics. But I decided not to because I am not very good a drawing. Over all this project was ok but it was not one that will stand out to me.
